Often known as a Texas summer destination, the city of New Braunfels, was recognized because there is an expected rise of 17% in employment by 2025. This prediction is related to the tourist attractions such as the Comal River, Schlitterbahn waterpark and the annual Wursfest. The aesthetic of being part of the Texas Hill Country also makes this quaint city an attractive place to live.
Local hotels, retail and restaurants are the city’s top employers, but health care, construction and manufacturing also add to the job market.
New Braunfels is conveniently located between two major cities: San Antonio and Austin, which are only about a 40-minute drive away. The cost of living and housing in New Braunfels is significantly less than either city.

1. River Chase
By far the most popular community, River Chase is several miles north of New Braunfels. It a rustic elegance Hill Country buyers desire. It features a 58-acre community park—River Park—that provides residents with private access to the Guadalupe River.

Manor Creek is a gated community in northwest New Braunfels, made up of large homes with mature trees on third-acre lots. A community favorite clubhouse and neighborhood pool, Manor Creek is centered around the best aspects of the Texas Hill Country: community and the great outdoors. Manor Creek offers a variety of floor plans between 2,000 and 3500 square feet.
A new construction, Pecan Crossing has a two-acre private park, walking trails and two playscapes. Most conveniently located, it is nearly across the street from Fischer Park, New Braunfels’ biggest and most beloved open space. This popular New Braunfels neighborhood has a variety of beautiful and affordable home options including open floor plans, high ceilings and elegant exteriors.
John Newcombe Estate, created by the Australian tennis legend, is perhaps New Braunfels’ most unique master-planned community. It features 200 premium acreage homesites, thoughtful Hill Country amenities and an exclusive country club. It was established in 2011 and continues to set new standards. One of the higher-end communities in New Braunfels.
